Welcome. My name is Merrilee Beckman, author of The Iron Labyrinth. I’m so happy to have you as a visitor to my blog about my new book. This project is very special to me, and I hope to share some of that excitement with you here.
I’ll be using this blog to interact with you about The Iron Labyrinth, expanding on some of the topics in it and blogging on some of the ideas related to my book. This is a great place for you to get to know me, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you, too. What did you think of The Iron Labyrinth? What questions do you have for me? How do you relate to my book?
I’ll be returning here frequently with new posts and responses to feedback from you. Until next time, tell me a little bit about yourself.
Hi Merrilee, I am so glad I can connect via your blog. I am still working through your amazing book, The Iron Labyrinth, and throughout I keep asking, “How does she know?” Your book is a wonderful example of the imagination as Truth. You see, over the decades I have had experiences very close to what you are describing. For me such descriptions are biographical! I’ll give one example. In your book you give an amazing description of Roche’s becoming an animal. Here is my description of my actual experience one night in 1990’s:
“I am in bed aware that I am sleeping, yet awake. I feel something entering that feels dangerous. I feel the presence of an animal merging with me, co-extensive with my human form. I move into a crouch position on the bed. I feel rippling power arcing through my chest and my mouth elongates and my teeth are sharp and bared. A growl utters easily from my chest. Power and grace in the animal body yet I am still human, too. I am conscious of my human experience while at the same time I have entered an animal consciousness. The power I feel is exhilarating. I have never felt such freedom. It takes over my speech centres and growls a long basso note with consummate ease. In fact he enters my entire body. All my senses are now available to him.” This is one of many from my autobiography, The Imperative.…
All my books and essays attempt to express and understand such experiences. Oh, and I am an iUniverse author too. Their blog has me describing my insights about the art of writing: https://blog.iuniverse.com/author-blogs/john-c-woodcocks-insights-on-writing-part-1/
I wish you all the best with this book and hope it becomes a best seller. Yours John Woodcock
